The liquid lipstick market is ever-expanding and I couldn’t be happier. Liquid lipsticks are really only the type of lipsticks that I buy anymore. Ever since NYX popped up in my local Boots and I fell in love with liquid lipsticks, I’ve been obsessing over them ever since.
When I popped into Boots recently, I saw a whole stand dedicated to the Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Lip Colour. Although as a whole, Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Lip Colour has been out for a while, the stand was promoting their new colours that have been recently added to the range.
If I’m honest, I had no idea about this range. I hadn’t seen any promotions surrounding it or any blogger hype, therefore, I didn’t know it existed until I accidentally stumbled upon it. I took a few colour swatches of the range and instantly fell in love. I am now, over the moon that I accidentally stumbled upon them. Here are a few of the colours I picked up…
The Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Lip Colour is available in 18 shades. The colour range is actually very varied, with every-day nudes, vibrant reds, deep blues and even a jet-black. Although the range isn’t that big, there’s a wonderful variation in colours. It was the colours that first drew me in, making it very difficult to choose just a couple to bring home with me. I must have swatched more than half the collection before I chose the ones I did, Plum This Show, Be My Baby and Urban Affair.
On first impressions, I was blown away with the Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Matte Lip Colour and couldn’t understand why this range didn’t have more hype.
The most important thing to me when buying a liquid lipstick is that it’s non-drying. Some liquid lipsticks are known to be completely drying on the lips, emphasise lip cracks and be uncomfortable to wear, however, there are no problems with this formula. Although a quick-drying, liquid lipstick, the formula is a dream. It’s not drying and there’s no stickiness, making the liquid lipsticks really comfortable and pleasure to wear.
Okay, now let’s talk about the longevity. The vibrant and pigmented formula really does not budge! When I first wore the shades I was amazed at how long liquid lipsticks stayed on for, even after eating and drinking and a full day out. They really are something else and I am really impressed with this quality. The liquid lipsticks also dry pretty quickly and leave a velvety matte finish.
Now let’s move on to the colours I picked up…
Plum This Show looks a lot darker in the tube, but it’s a beautiful, vibrant plum shade.
Be My Baby is a soft, peachy nude that’s perfect for everyday wear.
Urban Affair is my favourite of the colours I picked up, a deep purple shade.
Overall, I am so impressed with the Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Lip Colour. They have all the qualities I look for in a liquid lipstick, with their amazing formula, beautiful shades and longevity that cannot be rivalled.
