Highlighters are the quickest and easiest way to achieve a glowing and illuminating look.
I am obsessed with a bit of glow on my cheekbones and there’s not a day goes by where I don’t add a subtle shimmer to my skin. Over the years, I’ve tried out many highlighters. However, there’s been a few that have stuck in mind. My collection is ever-growing, but here are a few of my favourites right now and what I think, are the best highlighters for an instant glow…
The versatile highlighting palette includes four shades, two with a powder formula and two with a cream. The shimmering and luminous shades all have their unique uses, which makes it the perfect little compact to take on an overnight break or pop in your handbag. The colours and the glow is the real wow-factor of this product – it’s become a firm favourite of mine.
Although this little beauty is designed to be a concealer, I just find that it works so well as a highlighter. The L’Oreal Touche Magique concealer is an illuminating and pigmented product which sets well underneath the eyes. With the small brush, it’s easy to set the highlight across the cheekbones and down the nose. The illuminating product allows you to create a radiant look.
This is a perfect budget highlighter that I’ve been loving recently. It’s made its way on to my list of best highlighters for an instant glow for a number of reasons, however number one is it creates a lovely, subtle glow. It doesn’t add any colour to its highlight, just a bit of shimmer to create a glowing finish. The highlighter also comes in cream and powder form, although I’d always choose the powder, it’s nice to have options in a kit that costs just only £5. It’s an ideal budget highlighter!
Featuring another MUA. I really do rate MUA for highlighters and I couldn’t help but add this one to the list. This stick is a three-in-one kind of deal, with a shimmering bronzer, subtle pink and glowing highlight. I find this ideal for the warmer months, especially when I have a tan. This was what I wore a lot last summer after my holidays – as it creates a glowing, healthy finish to makeup. Like I said already, it’s MUA, but I find they produce amazing budget-friendly highlight options that rival many high-end brands.
This highlight was my first love. It was the first highlighter that I thought was perfect for skin tone and created the illuminating look I desired on a daily basis. In the sweet box is the delicate champagne coloured powder, which is ideal for creating a shimmering finish to any makeup look. Again, it’s a really good budget version and a great dupe to another of my favourite highlighters of all time, MAC’s Soft and Gentle
Last, but not least, my favourite highlighter of all time that has been featured various times on my blog before. It’s a highlighter that deserves its spot on my best highlighters for an instant glow list for many, many reasons. The sheer, glowing powder is stunning and helps to create that luxurious luminous glow that I’ve always craved for.
